Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection, Mrs. Edona Bilali, speaking at the first National Anticorruption Conference, which will be held in Tirana, on June 13, 14 and 15, 2022, said that, “Albania is making progress in the fight against corruption… In this mandate, the government’s main focus is digitization, as the means to win this battle, simplifying the lives of citizens and businesses in obtaining public services. Years ago, there were few who believed in the digital revolution, but today, despite the challenges, the provision of electronic services is a tangible reality for everyone”.

Among others, the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Edona Bilali brought to attention the OECD report, which ranks Albania first among the countries of the Western Balkans in the provision of online public services and the digital revolution, which has brought convenience to citizens and business. “Since 2015, the automation of IT processes has started for the business, which was previously carried out manually by inspectors, while today they are carried out by the business office. The customs system has also benefited from the digital system. Economic operators in 2021 benefited from 34 out of 41 customs services, while 4 new services were added last year. Public procurements are also conducted online only. While the success story in digitalization belongs to DPSHTRR, which from 4 online services in 2018, today counts 77 online services”, stated the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection, Mrs. Edona Bilali.

Closing, he emphasized the work done to date and what is expected for this decade. “We have fully embraced the task of building democratic institutions, strengthening the rule of law and building a state administration untouched by corruption. This is today’s Albania and the vision for the year 2029”, concluded the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection, Mrs. Edona Bilali.
